PROJECT DESCRIPTION
STUDIO: PHILLIPS | SEKANICK
Located near a newly developed area of residential villas
and on a heavily traveled corridor, the Home Savings and
Loan Howland branch was designed to reflect the
institution’s image of strength and tradition. Responding to
the existing conditions of the site and existing
neighborhood, the structure integrated the commercial
needs of the banking facility with features of the residential
community that resulted in a high quality workspace that
was contextually appropriate to the designs of the local
community. The traditional design and use of materials
conveyed the client’s desire to be part of the local
community while also suggesting a stable presence in the
center of the growing suburban, residential community.
